Hi, I’m Drew.

I’m pretty simple: I like to make things out of wood when I’m not working, playing with kids or Netflix-and-chilling with my wife.

This is where I should talk about inheriting and restoring my grandfather’s tools; about learning and mastering new skills; and about struggling with fancy newfangled tools before realizing the old guys had it right all along.

But mostly, I create useful objects because I hope they’ll be treasured by somebody as sentimental as me. Because even though woodworking isn’t my livelihood, it helps make life more full.

Oh, and the name? There are (you guessed it) three pignut hickories in my yard. They’re gorgeous in the fall. That’s about it.

A few years ago, I thought my tools were sharp, my edges square, and my dovetails tight.

Lucky for you, I’m always learning and improving. I use a combo of hand tools, power tools, workbenches and kitchen tables — whatever is best for the job at hand. I’ll never claim to be the authority on woodworking — but I will make the best products I can, using materials and tools that are sourced as responsibly as possible.
